The Synergy project

(page under construction)

A component-based virtual machin for adaptable software

Objective

The Synergy project aims at  providing a robust reconfigurable virtual machin for adaptable software. This virtual machine considers components as a first-class reflexive concept, like objects and classes.

Motivations

We believe, like many others, that the component paradigm is an important step towards adaptablility. We further believe that component-based programming will only deliver its full promises if we are willing to profoundly impact our tools, programming models and runtimes. Our research focus is on the impact of introducing components within object-oriented virtual machines, as the foundation of a new generation of reflexive systems, designed for running and managing adaptable software.
